Join us in October for our experience and mile-builder in the Irish Sea. This hands-on passage is ideal for aspiring Yachtmasters or newly qualified Coastal and Day Skippers looking to improve and solidify their skills.
Over the course of this six-day mile-builder, you will take an active role on board. The itinerary includes night sailing and is specifically designed to build your confidence in practical passage planning, pilotage, running night watches, and effective crew management.
Expect the potentially heavy weather typical of an October sea. These autumnal conditions offer a realistic and valuable environment for sailors aiming to test their abilities and step up to the next level.
The trip will be aboard the Beneteau Oceanis 45 - Skylark, and will be led by an experienced skipper.
We will depart from our base at Largs, navigating southwards out of the Firth of Clyde and into the Irish Sea. Along the way, our planned passage includes stops at Campbeltown, a crossing over to Northern Ireland (Ballycastle), and—weather permitting—the Isle of Arran, before returning to Largs.
Please note that, as is standard practice for autumn sailing, the exact route and itinerary may vary depending on the prevailing weather conditions and sea state. The skipper will adapt the passage plan as needed to ensure the safety of the crew while still delivering a highly practical and valuable sailing experience.
This mile-builder starts on 18th October, at 18:30 in Largs. Currently SOLD OUT, but we have a waiting list available.
The price is £895 and includes:
- Onboard accommodation;
- Onboard meals and snacks;
- Fuel and gas;
- Marina and harbour fees.
Optional extras:
- Oil skins hire - £3.50 per item/day;
- Cleaning fee £12.50/per person or the crew can clean the boat;
- Sleeping bag can be hired at just £25 per period.
