Amazing sailing expeditions all over the world from Arctic to Antarctic latitudes

Sailing Locations

Go West Sailing operates across many exciting sailing grounds, from local waters in the UK and Ireland to the most remote destinations on the planet, including Greenland and Antarctica. Our expeditions combine proper offshore passages with the rigours of expedition sailing and meaningful exploration ashore.

Throughout the 2026 and 2027 seasons, these voyages range from high-latitude sailing in Greenland and Antarctica to classic Atlantic crossings and warm-water island routes. These expeditions are built for sailors who prioritise professional seamanship and purposeful navigation along routes rarely visited by the standard cruising fleet.

World Sailing Adventures with Go West

Go West Sailing offers a truly global suite of sailing adventures, from high-latitude expeditions to classic ocean crossings and iconic rally passages. Each voyage is designed for sailors who cherish real sea time, purposeful navigation, and journeys that broaden both skills and horizons.

Atlantic Crossings and Classic Tradewind Routes

Cross the Atlantic on historic tradewind routes, from the British Virgin Islands to the Azores or onwards to the Caribbean via the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). These passages are excellent for building offshore experience, logging ocean miles and working towards RYA qualifications such as Yachtmaster Ocean. Along the way you’ll sail steady winds and open seas with meaningful watchkeeping, navigation and seamanship under way.

The Azores and Subtropical Crossings

The Azores sit at the heart of some of the great Atlantic sailing routes. From island cruising among volcanic landscapes to subtropical crossings northbound towards Scotland, these programmes combine remarkable sailing conditions with varied weather systems that truly test and refine offshore skills.

Arctic and High-Latitude Adventures

Explore the far north on our Greenland sailing adventures. Expect deep fjords, ice-studded shores and dramatic landscapes that few yachts ever see, with real polar navigation and rich opportunities for wildlife encounters.

Southern Extremes: Patagonia to Antarctica

Venture into the Southern Oceans with expeditions around Patagonia and onward to Antarctica. These trips are among the most sought after in world sailing, combining rugged coastlines, challenging weather and awe-inspiring ice-scapes with authentic offshore sailing that builds capability and confidence under the toughest conditions.

What Makes Go West Different

Unlike adventure providers who operate small expedition-specific yachts, Go West Sailings’ approach blends rigorous RYA training, purposeful offshore passages and authentic destination exploration on well-equipped cruising yachts. Whether you are working towards qualifications or seeking true passage-making experiences, our skippers bring decades of offshore experience — from polar seas to tradewind oceans — and will support you throughout.

Each adventure is all-inclusive, with meals, fuel, harbour fees and onboard guidance included as standard. Optional extras are minimal and transparent, so you can focus purely on the sailing, stories and sea time that matter.

We love to chat about sailing! If you have any questions, please get in touch by email, whatsapp, Facebook or call our office. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

This is an involved passage and the crew will be part of the boat preparation, general running of life onboard and the watch system that make it happen.

If you have little-to-no experience, please email us at admin@gowestsailing.com so we can chat through sea life with you. We can advise you on what you should pack and bring on board and hire waterproof garments typically worn by sailors. We will let you know everything you need to get to and from the boat based on our previous experience. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
