Who We Are
We are an RYA Recognised Sailing School and offshore sailing adventures company based in Largs, on Scotland’s west coast. From this natural gateway to some of the finest cruising grounds in Europe, we operate throughout Scottish waters and far beyond, combining high standards of training with proper adventure sailing.
Our focus is on seamanship, experience, and time spent genuinely sailing, whether close to home or on longer offshore passages.
Sailing Tuition, Charter and Offshore Adventures
High-quality sailing tuition sits at the core of what we do. We deliver a full range of RYA practical and shore-based courses, from beginner through to advanced levels, with an emphasis on confidence afloat, sound decision-making, and real-world skills.
Alongside training, we offer yacht charter on modern, well-maintained four- and five-cabin yachts. These are well suited to training, cruising, and longer coastal passages, supported by detailed handovers and ongoing shore support.
We also run offshore sailing adventures worldwide. These voyages are designed for sailors looking for meaningful time at sea, proper passages, and destinations beyond standard cruising routes.
Experienced Instructors and Skippers
All of our instructors and skippers are fully qualified RYA Yachtmasters or RYA Cruising Instructors. They bring extensive experience sailing in Scottish waters, supported by significant offshore mileage across oceans and remote regions.
Our instructors also hold a wide range of additional RYA qualifications and share a strong commitment to teaching. Courses are delivered in a professional, supportive environment, grounded in practical skills and good seamanship.
Destinations Near and Far
Closer to home, our sailing adventures explore Scotland’s west coast in depth. Routes regularly include the Hebrides, Barra, St Kilda, Orkney, and the Isle of Man, offering varied sailing, challenging conditions, and exceptional cruising.
Further afield, our offshore expeditions reach destinations that few yachts ever visit. These include Greenland, Iceland, the Azores, Cape Verde, South America, and Antarctica, providing opportunities for serious offshore sailing and rare routes.
Clear Pricing and What Is Included
All sailing courses and adventures are offered on an all-inclusive basis. Fuel, onboard food, and harbour fees are included as standard, with no hidden charges.
Optional extras are limited to wet weather clothing hire and end-of-charter cleaning if required. We can also assist with accommodation and airport transfers before or after your course or voyage.
Yacht Charter Fleet
Our charter fleet includes a wide range of carefully maintained yachts to suit different styles of sailing. Models include Beneteau Oceanis, Bavaria, Dehler, Elan, Ovni, Jeanneau, and Hanse.
Charter prices include 24-hour shore support, a full handover with a qualified skipper, weather and route guidance, a dinghy with outboard engine, and comprehensive charts and pilot books.

The flexibility of the course lends itself to changes in weather and practice time for participants who would benefit for more hands-on time such as pontoon arrival and departures. Great event with good crew.
Danny allows participants to make small errors where safe to do so as this enhances learning but is always ready to step in when or if required. This built my confidence through the week. Danny provides constant feedback and reinforces positive outcomes. A most enjoyable week with mixed weather from strong winds to brilliant sunshine on the Clyde.
Just a short note to thank you most sincerely for safely delivering our recently purchased Hallberg Rassy 42 from Medenblik in Holland across the North Sea, to Inverness. You came highly recommended and I appreciate the fact that at short notice you rearranged your busy schedule to help us with this delivery Although you and your crew had a very rough crossing the yacht was handed back to us cleaned and in first class condition, which was appreciated. Sailing to Antarctica and back from Ushuaia (which is, we now know - not the end of the world 😄) on a fantastic sailboat such as Global Surveyor was definitely a life-changing experience!
A big thanks to the amazing team which organised the trip and made this dream come true! And of course a special thanks to our Captain Danny who brought us safely there and back! We discovered Paradise bay, the fabulous half moon island, the famous Port Lockroy and many other places! Also had the chance to spot many whales ... Fabulous adventure!
Think I’ve found my new hobby! I had an amazing time completing my competent crew course with Go West Sailing and the fantastic, hugely experienced, calm and very patient instructor, Stefan. It was an action packed 5/6 days with so much to learn and take-in. Lots of adrenaline, excitement and a roller coaster of emotions! Thanks for the encouragement and for pushing me outside my comfort zone. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and learned so much from Stefan and also my more experienced fellow crew members who were completing their Day Skipper course. I would love to do that next!
I have been on sails with Danny and his team and I must say they are great instructors, amazing cooks and very easy to speak people. They can teach you a lot about sailing and still show you beautiful Scottish nature and keep fun on board. Strongly recommended.
