Sail the Biscay: Dublin - A Coruna - Gibraltar

Join us in October for a proper offshore sailing passage, with two route options to suit different timeframes and experience levels. You can choose a 16-day voyage from Dublin to Gibraltar, covering approximately 1,200 nautical miles and departing on 6 October, or join for a 10-day passage from A Coruña to Gibraltar, spanning around 600 nautical miles and starting on 13 October.

Both routes offer hands-on sailing as part of a working crew, led by an experienced Yachtmaster skipper. Accommodation and meals are included on board, allowing you to focus fully on the sailing, learning and time at sea.

The full voyage begins in Dublin and heads south across the Bay of Biscay to A Coruña, one of Europe’s classic offshore passages. From Spain, the route continues along the Atlantic coast towards Gibraltar, linking open-water sailing with memorable coastal landfalls. Along the way, there is time to experience historic ports, dramatic coastlines and the steady rhythm of life at sea.

The Bay of Biscay is well known among sailors for its changeable conditions and rewarding offshore sailing. Crossing it provides an excellent opportunity to build confidence, mileage and seamanship under real ocean conditions, with structured watchkeeping and guidance throughout. This passage is particularly well suited to sailors looking to gain meaningful offshore experience while enjoying a challenging and highly regarded cruising route.
